Leana is a California native but has been in the area since 2011. She has been an Optician since 2008 and with our office since 2015. She has an immense amount of knowledge and great style advice to assure you choose the best eyewear for your face shape and visual needs. Leana also takes care of all of our office’s insurance billing so when she’s not helping with eyewear, she is busy behind the scenes! Leana is our personal textbook and has taught Michelle and Shelby most of what they know. Her patience and years of experience has helped assure we give our patients the best and most effective care. When she is not at work she is spending time with her husband, ADORABLE daughter, and dog Macie.
Dr. Caroline Kaufman is originally from Alaska. She has been a practicing Optometrist since 1994 and has owned Factoria Eye Clinic since 2005. She is residency-trained in Cornea and Specialty Contact Lenses. Dr. Kaufman is a wonderful doctor who takes the time to give thorough, accurate exams. She has a passion for fitting Orthokeratology, as well as Rigid Gas Permeable, Scleral, and hybrid lenses for specific eye diseases or hard-to-fit contact lens prescriptions. Her perfectionist tendencies and love of what she does sets her apart in the contact lens world. Dr. Kaufman is on the board (as secretary) for the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. When she is not at the office, she is spending time with her family. She also enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, or hanging out at the lake.
Michelle is originally from Southern California but has been living in the area since 2001. She has worked at our office since 2016. Michelle has two kids out of the house, so when she is not in the office she can be found with friends or family trying out new restaurants, or traveling with her husband. You will find her at the front desk, keeping our office organized and running smoothly. Without her attention to detail, we would fall apart and she always makes sure insurances are verified to the best of her ability, and goes above and beyond for our patients with every aspect of her job. She is the glue that holds our office together!
Shelby is originally from Eastern Washington but has been living on the eastside since joining our office in 2015. Shelby is our Optometric Technician who loves learning about the field and is continuing to earn further certifications. Her favorite part of her job is assisting Dr. Kaufman with specialty contact lens fittings and follow ups. When Shelby is not at work you can find her with her friends at sporting events, restaurants, or in Eastern Washington with friends and family back home.
